This Privacy Notice for Matt's Macros Limited (doing business as Matt's Macros) ("we," "us," or "our") explains how we collect, use, store, share, and otherwise process information when you use our website at mattsmacros.com and any other site that links to this Notice (together, the "Services").
Matt's Macros is a free content site for athletes, coaches, and anyone trying to eat with intent. We publish high-protein recipes, a free macro calculator, and field-tested writing on training and nutrition. We do not currently sell memberships, subscriptions, digital downloads, or physical products through this site. We do not require an account.
If you have questions about this Notice, please email us at info@mattsmacros.com.
Summary of key points
Plain-English version of the points below. Full details follow.
- The macro calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your inputs are not stored or transmitted to our servers.
- No accounts. The site does not require login. We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information unless you contact us directly.
- We may collect technical information automatically — for example, IP address and browser type — when you visit the site, so we can keep it running and secure.
- We do not sell or share personal information for advertising or marketing.
- We link to Mero (getmero.co), which is a separate site with its own privacy policy.
- You have rights over your personal information depending on where you live. See the relevant sections below for how to exercise them.
01.What information do we collect?
A short list of categories. We collect very little because the site does very little.
Information you provide to us
You can use Matt's Macros without giving us any personal information. We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it — for example, by emailing us, or by signing up for the Mero waitlist (which is handled by Mero on a separate site).
If you contact us by email, we may receive:
- Your name (if you include it)
- Your email address
- The content of your message and any attachments
Information about the macro calculator
The macro calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. The values you enter (sex, age, height, weight, activity level, goal) and the values it returns are not sent to our servers, are not stored by us, and are not shared with any third party. If you close the tab or refresh the page, the inputs are gone.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting provider and any standard infrastructure tooling may automatically receive technical information that does not directly identify you, such as:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and version, language, operating system
- The page you came from (referrer) and the page you requested
- Date and time of the request, and basic error or performance data
This information is used to operate, secure, and improve the site (for example, to investigate errors, block abusive traffic, or measure aggregate page load times). It is not used to build a marketing profile of you.
Sensitive information
We do not knowingly collect any information that would qualify as "sensitive" or "special" under applicable privacy laws (such as racial or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, health data, or biometric data).
Payment data
We do not sell anything through this site at this time. We do not collect payment card numbers, billing addresses, or financial account information on Matt's Macros. The Mero waitlist is operated separately by Mero at getmero.co and is governed by Mero's privacy policy.
02.How do we process your information?
Plain-English: to run the site, respond to you, keep things secure, and follow the law.
We process the information described above for a small set of reasons:
- To deliver the site. Serving pages, images, recipes, and the macro calculator to your browser.
- To respond to inquiries. If you email us, we use your contact details to reply and to keep a record of the exchange.
- To protect the site. To detect, prevent, and investigate security issues, fraud, abuse, and technical errors.
- To understand usage in aggregate. To measure how the site is used (for example, which pages are popular) so we can improve it. Where we use analytics, we configure it for aggregate measurement and minimize personal data.
- To comply with our legal obligations. Including responding to lawful requests from authorities, enforcing our Terms, and protecting our rights.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
04.What is our stance on third-party websites?
We link to other sites. We aren't responsible for what they do.
The Services link to third-party websites and online services that are not operated by us. We provide these links for your convenience or because they are referenced in our editorial content. We do not control, monitor, or endorse the content, privacy practices, or security of those third parties.
You should review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit. We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or claim arising from your interactions with them.
06.How long do we keep your information?
Only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected.
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (for example, for tax, accounting, or legal compliance).
Specifically:
- Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and to maintain a reasonable record of communications, typically up to twelve (12) months after the matter is resolved.
- Server logs and security data are retained for a short period, typically thirty (30) to ninety (90) days, then deleted or anonymized.
- Macro calculator inputs are not retained at all. They never leave your browser.
When we no longer have a legitimate business reason to keep your personal information, we delete or anonymize it. Where deletion is not immediately possible (for example, because the information is in backups), we isolate it from further processing until deletion is possible.
07.How do we keep your information safe?
With reasonable technical and organizational measures.
We have implemented technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the personal information we process, including using reputable hosting infrastructure, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls.
No system can be guaranteed 100% secure. Despite our safeguards, we cannot guarantee that a malicious third party will not defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Transmission of personal information to and from the Services is at your own risk. Use the Services only within a secure environment.
08.Do we collect information from minors?
The Services are not directed to children under 18.
We do not knowingly collect data from, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of a minor and consent to their use of the Services.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please email info@mattsmacros.com.
09.What are your privacy rights?
You have rights, depending on where you live. Here's how to use them.
All visitors
You can email us at any time at info@mattsmacros.com to ask what information we hold about you, request that we correct or delete it, or object to our processing of it. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Withdrawing consent
Where we rely on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing done before withdrawal, nor processing done under a different lawful basis.
Opting out of marketing
We do not currently send marketing email from this site. If we begin to, every email will include an unsubscribe link. You may also email info@mattsmacros.com to opt out. We may still send you transactional or service-related messages if you have contacted us directly (for example, replying to your question).
Cookies
Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies or notify you when they are being set. Doing so may affect some site features but will not break the core Services.
10.Controls for Do-Not-Track features
There is no uniform standard. We don't currently respond to DNT signals.
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a "Do-Not-Track" ("DNT") feature you can activate to signal your preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. No uniform standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As a result, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or other automated mechanisms that communicate a tracking preference. If a standard is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will update this Notice to describe our practice.
11.Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?

You may also designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf. We may require proof of the agent's authority before honoring such a request.
Appeals
If we decline a privacy request, you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing info@mattsmacros.com. We will respond in writing with our decision and our reasons. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.
California "Shine the Light"
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 ("Shine the Light") permits California residents to request, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing.
12.Mero is a separate site
Mero (getmero.co) is operated separately and has its own privacy policy.
Matt's Macros links heavily to Mero (getmero.co), a performance meal-planning system. Mero is operated separately from Matt's Macros and has its own privacy policy, terms of service, and data practices.
Anything you submit on Mero — including waitlist signups, account creation, payment information, or messages — is governed by Mero's policies, not this one. If you have questions about how Mero handles your data, please review Mero's privacy policy or contact Mero directly.
13.Do we make updates to this notice?
Yes. We will update this notice as needed.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you — for example, by posting a notice on the site. We encourage you to review this Notice periodically.
14.How can you contact us about this notice?
By email or by post.
If you have questions or comments about this Notice, please email us at info@mattsmacros.com.

To make a request, email info@mattsmacros.com with a description of your request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
